  1. MacAstro 1.3 is a  program  for  astronomy  lovers  to  calculate  the
  2. appearance of the  sky  at   any    time  and  any  point on earth. It
  3. displays the position of the 8 major planets, the Sun, the  Moon,  and
  4. 1000 brightest astronomical objects (stars and Messier's objects).

  6. These are the main features of the program :

  8. • Full Macintosh interface.
  9. • Background calculations.
  10. • Displays the position of 1010  (1000 stars + 8 planets + Sun + Moon)
  11.   objects  in  the  sky,  according  to  the  date  and  place  of the
  12.   observation.
  13. • Displays the ephemeris of any of the 1010 objects :
  14.     • rising/setting/culmination,
  15.     • right ascension/declination,
  16.     • azimuth/altitude,
  17.     • visual magnitude and diameter,
  18.   and  allows  to  save it to a text file for the planets, the Sun and
  19.   the Moon.
  20. • Displays the phase of the Moon.
  21. • Displays Jupiter and Saturn's satellites position.
  22. • Displays the sidereal time.
  23. • “Planetarium” mode : an animation refreshes regularly the appearance
  24.   of the sky (can turn in background under MultiFinder).
  25. • Editable list of most commonly used places of observation.
  26. • Needs a Macintosh Plus or larger and a system 6.0 or later.
